Learning
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage standards for the learning, development and care of children. We encourage children learning and developing through play and teaching.
We strongly believe in the 4 principals of EYFS:
- A unique child
I always seek the children individuality and independence by encouraging them to take care of themselves, after being taught, i.e., putting on their own coat before going out, washing their hands after potty-training and keeping clean at meal times, as well as holding their own cups and spoons properly as the earliest possible stage.
- Positive relationships
As for book reading activities, group activities and free-play, we discuss what the concept of fair is and what isn’t. We make sure to have conversations about it, so that fairness is understood and opinions are taken into account understanding each and every rule.
- Enabling environments
We help the children enjoy the Early Years Learning process through games, indoor and outdoor activities, role-play, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, painting, messy play and more. During every activity, I promote equality and inclusion; I promote respect between each other, value their opinion and include them in problem-solving within the group. In that way, there is a democratic environment within the setting and everyone gets a say.
- Learning and development
I encourage the children’s learning and development by planning organized activities according to their age and development range. I create monthly plans which we follow on a day-to-day basis, including activities of all kind and target areas for all ages of children.
