Activities
All welfare and educational activities throughout Lucy’s Daycare follow the Early years Foundation Stage(EYFS) framework.
We support free-flow play and help to develop children’s confidence by encouraging them to choose the activities they want to engage in and to develop their own imagination and decision making. However we also initiate adult-led activities to extend learning.
All activities are delivered through exploration and play, and children benefit from a structured, safe and well resourced environment.
Every day, children are involved on different activities that are part of our daily routine like meal time, free play, singing and dancing, messy play, storytelling, arts and crafts and outdoor activities.
We aim to help children gain confidence and ease in expressing themselves, encourage an early interest in books and to sit down, listen, understand and keep focused, as well as to use craft tools, hand coordination, expressing themselves, being imaginative and resourceful.
While children participate on certain activities we make observations of regarding their personal interests, achievements and actions and we also gather observations from parents. Children contributions are also included.
We plan appropriate and motivating learning opportunities for children.
We always focus on each child’s individual needs for the next steps to be taken.
